Checking your own balance in OKX's proof of reserves, step by step
OKX lets you verify that your balance was included in its proof-of-reserves snapshot. A step-by-step guide for readers in Poland, plus what the result does and does not tell you.
OKX | Poland | PLN | fees, access and account safety
OKX publishes proof-of-reserves reports and, alongside them, a tool that lets each user check whether their own balance was included in the snapshot. Many people read the headline ratio and never try the personal check, even though it takes only a few minutes and is the part of the report that is most directly about you. This guide walks through the check on OKX and then explains what a successful result means and where its limits are.
Find the verification page
Sign in to OKX and open the proof of reserves section, which you can reach from the app menu or the website you typed yourself. Look for the option to verify your assets or audit your account. Make sure you are signed in, because the verification uses data specific to your account. Note the date of the snapshot shown at the top; the result relates to your balance on that date, not today.
Run the check
Start the verification. OKX shows a record for your account in that snapshot, typically including a hashed identifier and your balances for the covered assets. Compare these balances with what you held around the snapshot date, using your own records or your account history. They should be close. The page may also explain how the record fits into the overall data structure used for the report.
What a match tells you
If your record is present and the balances look right, it means your account was included in the total user liabilities that the report compared against reserves on that date. That is useful: it shows the exchange did not leave your balance out of the calculation. If your record is missing or clearly wrong, take a screenshot and contact OKX support from inside the app with the snapshot date.
What it does not tell you
A successful check does not show the exchange's other liabilities, and it says nothing about what happened after the snapshot date. It also depends on the methodology described in the report and on who reviewed it, so skim that section. Use the check as one reassurance among several, keep on the exchange only what you need for trading, and repeat the check when a new snapshot is published.
