Spotting fake OKX messages written in Polish: language clues, sender checks and safe replies

Phishing aimed at users in Poland increasingly arrives in fluent Polish, by email, text or messenger. How to check whether a message claiming to come from OKX is genuine and what to do when you are not sure.

OKX | Poland | PLN | fees, access and account safety

A few years ago, many phishing messages were easy to spot because of clumsy translations. That advantage is fading. Messages aimed at people in Poland now often arrive in natural Polish, use the OKX logo correctly and copy the tone of real security notices. Some mention local banks or payment methods to look familiar. The language is no longer a reliable clue, so the checks have to move to things an attacker cannot easily fake: where the message really came from, what it asks you to do, and whether the same information appears when you open the OKX app yourself. This guide sets out those checks in the order you would use them on a busy day, plus the safe ways to respond when a message still leaves you unsure.

Ask what the message wants you to do

Every phishing message ends with a request: click a link, scan a code, sign in, confirm a withdrawal, download an attachment or reply with a code. Before examining anything else, identify that request. Genuine OKX notifications mostly inform you about something that has already happened in your account. Messages that push you to act within minutes, threaten to freeze your account or offer a prize that requires logging in deserve immediate suspicion. Urgency is the attacker's tool, because it stops you from checking.

Check the sender with the anti-phishing code

OKX lets you set an anti-phishing code that appears in genuine emails from the platform. If you have not set one, do it now from the security settings in the app. Once it is active, any email claiming to be from OKX that lacks your code, or shows a different one, should be treated as fake. For text messages and messenger chats there is no equivalent code, so treat links in them with extra caution. A display name that says OKX proves nothing; anyone can choose that name.

Verify inside the app, never through the message

When a message mentions a login, a withdrawal, a verification problem or a reward, close the message and open the OKX app directly, or type the address of the official site yourself. Check notifications, the security log and any pending actions there. If nothing matches what the message described, you have your answer. Do not use phone numbers or links contained in the message to call or chat with support, because those may lead straight to the attacker.

Respond safely when in doubt

If you clicked a link or entered details by mistake, change your OKX password from the official app immediately, review active devices and sessions, and check the withdrawal address list for entries you did not add. Then contact OKX support through the help centre. You can also report the message to the platform and to CERT Polska, which collects reports of fraudulent messages and sites aimed at users in Poland. Reporting helps others even when you caught the attempt in time.

Risk boundary: OKX Poland Guide

Digital assets are volatile and derivatives can amplify losses. This website has no login, wallet connection, deposit form or customer-support chat. A referral link only records attribution; it does not guarantee access, pricing, rewards, approval or investment results. Availability can differ by residence, legal entity and product, so no regional access is assumed from language or branding alone.

Scenario checkpoint

  • Identify what action a message is asking for before you judge anything else about it.
  • Set an anti-phishing code in OKX security settings and look for it in every email.
  • Open the OKX app directly to verify alerts instead of using links or numbers in a message.
  • If you entered details by mistake, change your password and check the address list at once.
  • Report fake messages to OKX support and to CERT Polska to warn other users in Poland.
